About Michael

Michael P. Dunn is the founder and managing partner of Dunn Law, P.A. He concentrates his practice in insolvency, with an emphasis on bankruptcy and commercial litigation, and regularly represents trustees and fiduciaries, banks, creditors, debtors, and distressed asset purchasers.

Michael’s litigation practice centers on complex fraud, professional liability, director and officer liability, breach of fiduciary duty, partnership and shareholder disputes, and business divorce, along with the avoidance and recovery of preferential and fraudulent transfers. He has substantial experience in asset recovery and the liquidation of real property, personal property, and digital assets, and often serves as a court-appointed fiduciary in state and federal matters, including a Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement action involving cryptocurrency fraud and several Florida assignments for the benefit of creditors.

On the transactional side, Michael practices in real estate and commercial transactions. As a licensed title agent he has handled residential and commercial closings throughout Florida, and he has represented start-ups, small businesses, and new ventures in formation, early-stage funding, and negotiations between partners and shareholders. As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and Qualified Arbitrator, he is regularly selected by parties to resolve commercial litigation and bankruptcy disputes.

Michael is a frequent speaker and has published on bankruptcy and insolvency, real estate, cryptocurrency, blockchain, and NFT fraud. He recently concluded his term as President of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida after six years on its executive board.
